Wow Philippines! Manila - 3-day itinerary
Wow Philippines
By Ronan, Mary Ann, Anton and Alvin
We wrote this itinerary for travelers who will be visiting the Philippines to visit the top three cities for vacation and business.
The 3-day itinerary comprises various locations of cultural and commercial significance with the three big cities of the Philippines: Metro Manila, namely, Quezon City, Manila and Makati. We chose the cities because it is the center of business, discounted products, culture and gigs.
There will be moments when you will be using different means of public transport – from the common jeepney and MRT, to the wise alternatives such as the river ferry. But most of the time, you will have the chance to walk, and walk and walk all over the streets – amidst ruins, lush trees, high rise buildings, and dazzling night lights.
Three days, three themes - expect to experience these in your journey. For day one, you will explore the Spanish atmosphere of Manila. For day two, it is the lush greenery and cosmopolitan flare of Quezon City, and for day three it is the tour of commerce and development – from the old Quiapo, the developing Pasig River, and the upscale living of Makati.
What’s good about this guide is that we tend to skew the touring options towards the less expensive and even free. Setting aside the extravagance of a few hotels and restaurants recommended here, everything else would focus on the inexpensive. It’s plain and simple – we can clearly say that indeed, the best things in life are free.
It has always been the misconception that touring a country would entail that you splurge on posh restaurants and high end hotels. A wonderful holiday is not about this. It’s about getting most of the locale with the least possible expense at the same time gaining maximum experience in education, culture and business. It’s about weighing the moments when you’d have to shell out some money and when you’d enjoy life’s freebies with your families and friends. It’s about indulging in the culture of a country and not on its luxuries.
